Kid Classes

At Chesapeake Dog Training, we are passionate about connecting people and dogs through training...and that includes kids!  We hope to inspire the next generation of dog trainers through various programs and classes specifically designed for kids of all ages.  We want kids to understand the basic concepts of behavior modification and training, but also how incredible dogs are and the amazing connection that is possible between dogs and humans.  Kids will develop good observational skills and become experts in timing and communication with another species.  Kid classes that do not involve bringing family pets are open to anyone, but classes with live dogs must be CDT students.  Classes with kids only will be registered through a link to a specific, external sign-up page while classes with dogs will be scheduled through the usual Gingr client portal.  The Kid Classes program is in its infancy, but we look forward to offering a great space for kids to learn to love dogs as much as we do...

Our Millersville location has ample room for humans and dogs!  It is climate controlled and has a nice bathroom, refrigerator, and classroom set up.  We prioritize safety and work hard to ensure that demonstration dogs used in the programs are well acclimated to the sights and sounds of active children and of course are in good health and fully vaccinated.

Iditarod Class

Hold on to your Sleds...while we follow these canine athletes through Alaska's rugged interior.  Kids will learn about vet checks, training, dog sled teams, jobs, mushers, trail maps, and engage in hands-on activities.  Snack will be provided.
